Think of Twickenham and most people picture the stadium and home to English rugby, the largest dedicated rugby union venue in the world. These days, it’s not just rugby that is played at Twickenham but some of the world’s best music too as some of the biggest bands have belted out their songs to adoring fans on this large expanse of grass in west London.
There’s no doubt the rugby stadium has impacted the suburban area of south west London but this part of London has more to offer than just rugby. Twickenham is bounded in the east by a large section of the River Thames and therefore offers many opportunities to enjoy a riverside setting.
Twickenham is also the setting for several houses with gardens that are open to the public to look around – Marble Hill House, Orleans House and York House, all within 10 minutes of each other and Ham House just a short ferry ride across the river. All of this makes for an excellent day out, taking in the beautiful buildings, landscapes and planting schemes.
Take a walk through Richmond Park, where you can find everything from cycle routes to long ambling walks that are perfect for a Sunday. The Isabella Plantation offers the perfect location to get away from the hustle and bustle that comes with London life, and the café situated in the centre of the park lets you take in the greenery and relax.
In terms of a place to live, Twickenham offers its residents an affluent suburban area, lying just over 10 miles from the centre of London. This is also reflected in the restaurants and shops which tend to be quite upmarket. For the more high street labels, many go to Kingston to browse the shops over the weekend.
Whether you are a resident or business owner in Twickenham, the chances are, at some point, you are going to need to hire a van, whether it’s for a small office move, transporting and storing food, showcasing your products at a promotional event nearby or in central London at one of the many large scale product conventions. You might even need a van to pick up that sofa you ordered on eBay, after realising that it really won’t squeeze into the back of your Nan’s Ford Ka.
Whatever the reason, we will have the right vehicle for you – short, medium or long base, low or medium roof, with or without tail-lift, with or without garment rails, specialist chiller and freezer vans. If you’re not quite sure what type of vehicle you need, we are very happy to run through all the various options and sizes available to ensure you are matched with the best vehicle for you and your job.
